Nita is a member of the UK Solicitors Regulation Authority, The Society of Will Writers UK and is a full member of The Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the worldwide professional association for practitioners dealing with family inheritance and succession planning. In addition, Nita is a member of Resolution in the UK committed to their Code of Practice in family matters. She holds a full legal consultancy license from the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department and the Ruler’s Court in Dubai.

With over 20 years’ experience in senior legal positions, Nita has authored numerous articles on family, asset and wealth protection for ex-pats in the UAE. Recent articles include the new Federal Personal Status Law in Gulf News, DIFC Wills in ‘The National’ and ‘Gulf News’.  Nita also featured in the ‘Khaleej Times’ newspaper on Wills and Divorce in the UAE. She is also privileged to be the exclusive UAE representative for a chapter within The International Comparative Legal Guide to: Family Law 2020  – https://iclg.com/practice-areas/family-laws-and-regulations/united-arab-emirates

Nita practice areas range from drafting Wills,Legacy Planning, Family/ Divorce Matters and advising/structuring DIFC Foundations.

Having been part of the UAE legal sector for over a decade, Nita has forged trusted and long-standing working relationships with the Dubai Courts, Personal Status Courts and DIFC Courts. Her services are regularly recommended by consulates and embassies in the UAE. TWS Legal Consultants is also on the British Embassy’s list of established law firms in the UAE. Nita is a DIFC registered Wills draftsman, and has a leading role in the working group involved in formulating/contributing to the DIFC Wills Service Centre Rules and remains active to date. Her firm has registered a very high volume of DIFC Wills and has successfully administered the estates of those that have passed away with a DIFC Will in place with ease.

Nita is well-known for her personal yet professional approach to resolving problems and ensuring her clients are in safe and supported hands. She has a well-recognized talent for safeguarding families, children, and heirs in respect of succession/inheritance laws in Sharia jurisdictions and has extensive experience with the administration of deceased’s’ estates in the UAE. Her deep-rooted passion for family comes from her own role as a mother of three. As such, she understands at first-hand the importance of safeguarding one’s children and ensuring their rights, wealth, and guardianship is preserved and protected. Nita has established a successful and thriving UAE and UK family/divorce law department and prides herself on providing clients with a holistic approach in addressing their requirements. Her natural sense of empathy is conveyed through her client dealings in every respect. She understands the need to consider all factors and to approach family matters both practically, but more importantly, sensitively.
