Nita Maru is a dynamic UK qualified solicitor and is the Founding/Managing Partner of TWS Legal Consultants –  an established proactive law firm offering private client and corporate services  in Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Dubai. Her firm’s mission, quite simply, is to provide peace of mind to their clients and protection for their families and assets.

She is a member of the Law Society of England & Wales and the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the worldwide professional association for practitioners dealing with family inheritance and succession planning. Nita holds a full legal consultancy licence from the Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department and the Ruler’s Court in Dubai and she is registered with the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts’ Register of Legal Practitioners.

With over 20 years of experience in senior legal positions, Nita has authored numerous articles on family, asset and wealth protection for expats in the UAE including recent articles on the new DIFC Wills  in ‘The National’ and ‘Gulf News’ newspapers.  Nita also featured  in the ‘Xpress’ newspaper on Divorce in the UAE. Having been part of the UAE legal sector for over a decade, Nita has forged excellent and long standing working relationship with both the Dubai Civil Courts, Personal Status Courts and DIFC Courts. Her services are regularly recommended by consulates and embassies in the UAE. TWS Legal Consultants is also on the British Embassy’s list of recommended law firms.

Nita is well-known for her personal yet professional approach to resolving problems and ensuring her clients are in safe hands and fully supported. Farakh Ahmad is a UK qualified family law solicitor and a member of the Law Society of England and Wales. He has strong private client experience over a span of 8 years and is experienced in both contentious and non-contentious areas of law, specializing in Wills, Probate, and Family and Divorce matters.

Farakh prepares wills for both Muslims and non-Muslims within the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom and has administered numerous deceased estates within the UAE. Farakh is an expert in administrating estates from the beginning until completion both with Wills and when the deceased has died intestate. Mariam Darr is a UK qualified Solicitor Advocate, called to the Bar by Inner Temple in 2008. She specialises in family, divorce and separation matters and can assist both non-Muslim and Muslim clients with issuing divorce proceedings in the UK and under the Sharia law jurisdiction in the UAE.

Mariam advises on all aspects relating to children matters including maintenance, residence and contact orders. She is experienced in dealing with financial disputes upon breakdown of marriage including cases where there is substantial income and capital, business and assets with an international dimension. She further advises on applying for variation of maintenance orders and consent orders. Mariam is also adept at drafting pre and post nuptial agreements.

Mariam is a member of Resolution and adheres to the Resolution Code of Practice. She is committed to helping clients deal with their divorce in a non-adversarial manner and as constructively as possible, whilst also ensuring the best interests of any children of the family are kept at the forefront of considerations.
